There is one more week until I leave for school again. On the one hand, I'm taking a bunch of kickass classes this quarter and this year, but on the other, I'm going to miss everyone in State College. It's been really awesome just to relax at home, go out with my girlfriend, and see my high-school friends regularly.
I got an iPod nano. I eventually called the vendor, who said that they'd already sold my iPod because I didn't pay. However, they also said that they saw I tried to pay twice and failed, so they won't take action against me via eBay. I bought another one on Tuesday, and got it last Thursday. It's pretty sweet, I must say. On Saturday I went out and bought a cassette adapter and a case for it, so now I'm all geared up.
In other music-related news, my left earbud died. I had a pair of Sony MDR-EX71s, which were really, really nice. They fit down into the ear canal, blocking off sound, and have a lot of bass, but some people have complained that it's too muddy. But I don't mind it, not being a really big audiophile, nor a listener of bass-heavy music. They were also reasonably cheap; I think I got them for $35. Unfortunately, they're not very durable, and apparently the left earbud is especially prone to dying. I've had the pair since early April, and warranty only covers ninety days. I bought a replacement pair -- Sennheiser CX300, this time -- and I hope to receive them before my flight to Stanford. They were cheaper (under $20), and the folks over at the iLounge forums seem to think they're amazing, even better than the Shure E3cs, which are around four times more expensive!! (The cheapest pair I found was selling for around $80.) We'll see how they perform.
