It's a gorgeous day outside, much cooler than it has been lately. I went to the farmer's market and got more tomatoes, a mess of apricots, onions, raspberries, and cherries. I've been making yogurt smoothies for breakfast lately, with berries I pick up at the market. I love the produce this time of year. Apples and peaches are showing up, and we should have nectarines soon. Fruit! Wonderful fresh delicious fruit!
Running is going well. I tend to go in the early afternoon, which is insane as it's really hot here that time of day. But that's when I'm ready, and I dump water from the drinking fountain over my head and in my face and I carry a water bottle, and I just go. I'd forgotten how happy it makes me to run, even when it's hot and somewhat painful and really really slow. I love it. I feel better, I sleep better, I'm happy. Not losing any weight so far, but that's not really the point. The happiness I get from running is the point, along with the health benefits. But mostly the happiness.
I'm working on my writing these days, which makes me spend a lot more time in my head. I'm not really focused and present in the world, a lot of the time. I'm too busy thinking about what I want to say and where I'm going with the piece I'm working on, since I have an idea but not a narrative yet. I'll get there, but I'm going to be more absentminded than usual for a while. And either I'll go crazy with the posting like I did during NaNoWriMo, or I will be so deep in thought I'll forget about everything else. Except running.
