Already expecting a pretty crappy few days ahead. We're going to go onto a gauntlet of visiting relatives over a five day christmas season trip. Literally jumping like, one day in Ohio, next day in Kentucky, next few days in Michigan, then right back home. It should be a nice time.. but I'm not at all looking forward to being stuck in the back seat of a car for many hours on end for several days. I'm kind of a tall dude, so it gets uncomfortable, especially since I'm sharing it with my brother.
And I can honestly say for the first time that I can remember, work has been absurd. Yeah, I have a lot of responsibilities, but I can take care of those fine. And sure, our break in December forces our reporting cycle to end really early so there's less time to do stuff... but every one of us were given these crazy projects we've -never- had to do before that have us drilling down to very detailed levels to create powerpoint presentations for every little division. I and some others have 9 of these damn things to make, the others have less, sans one poor sap stuck with 11.
Between all that, and a new program I have to be starting up, it's been the first time I've been genuinely oversaturated with work... and I'm pretty swift about getting things done, so it's frustrating. Now I've got three days to do at least four days of work =\ Probably gonna be stuck effin' late each day... it's enough to have all that to do, but at any given day, I'll get 10 requests from various managers or whoever to get them some information and suck up more of my time. And I have to pack up for the trip somewhere Monday/Tuesday, because I have to go home right after work on Wednesday for my dad's birthday dinner.
Guess I'd better take a slurpee walk today, heh X) Already feeling restless/bothered by stuff, definitely don't need that going into a time where nothing's going to improve.
Oh also, old boss last year: Treats everyone out to a lunch at Outback Steakhouse. New boss this year: Having a few Chic Fil'A party platters come in, and we're asked to contribute to the costs... heh x_x Sure it's still nice, but wow. Looking forward to the Top Ramen Cook-off next year!
