Spacing

My roommate and I are having a debate about how many spaces on should put after a period when typing.  I say two and she says she has always done one.  So I would like so see how many people respond to this poll.Poll Spacing

It is the rule that there should be 2 spaces after each period. But I always forget that and only do one XD

I have always used two because that is the way I was taught in school. And I never forget because I had to write a fair amount of papers in college and I always felt that that extra space after the periods helped me get it done just that itty bitty bit faster.

In school, I was taught two spaces, but I'm old so things may have changed. I remember star_dancer54 being surprised that I typed that way, and I had never thought about it.

I was taught that two spaced was the rule too. And I am do not thing myself that old. At least not to where that rule should have changed. If anything they should change it to more spaces not less. But that is just my opinion.

I took a typing class in University - and the rule was two spaces then, as well. I'm fairly certain that is the generic rule - I see it in books as well.

I took a class way back when I was in middle school and I was taught that it was two. I will have to tell my roommate that she is WRONG! No matter, I got her already using two anyway. :)
