got knitting on the brain
hmff so is it a sign im too much into a fandom when i spend hours working on ideas for a themed knitted afghan?
i had ran across some knitting charts for the specific style of zodiac symbols for the trolls from homestuck and was all 'oooooooooooo'
the charts are 50 stitches wide so if i used standard(worsted) size yarn they would end up blocks about 12" wide roughly so that pretty much only leaves the 'blanket' option.. unless i knit with allot smaller yarn and needles anyways.. in which case i dunno what i would use them on other then a scarf or wall hanging(dont see myself knitting a sweater)
of course thats only 12 blocks.. which would be a pretty boring afghan so of course i jut -had- to sketch out ideas for other blocks and some various layouts... and do a bit of searching on line for a yarn i could use for most of the colors(i doubt ill find one brand with all the ones i need unless im dyeing them myself)
and now im liking the stuff i have going on so much im seriously contemplating knitting it... hmmm.. maybe after the new year after more yarn searching.. i dunno if i would wanna do it in wool or not, after all i live in tx, how often would i use a wool blanket?
i would need to decide on a layout so i could decide on background colors first anyways..
its also tempting to actually chart up any make one just out of these symbols(when they are all released)
meh either way i just know i need to spend some time making up some knitting charts now O.o
if all else fails i can make smaller versions of most of my charts(a few ideas already use 4 small images in a large block) and randomly make a bunch of tiny squares over a long period of time and decide what to attach them together as at a later date, heh.
