So I've been re-reading all of the HP books over the past couple of weeks. Trying to slowly soak it all in before the big release, and I came to the end of GOF where the big confrontation between Fudge and Dumbledore is happening and Fudge says this line;
"You'll forgive me, Dumbledore, but I've heard of a curse scar acting as an alarm bell before..."
Now I don't know why every single time I've read this book, I've always interpreted that line as meaning that Fudge has NEVER heard of a curse scar acting that way before...but either that's a typo, or I've been very wrong all along...Am I the only one to notice this? Who else has a curse scar that he could be referring to? Didn't JKR mention something enigmatic once about Dumbledore's scar that's a "perfect map of the London Underground"? Is there another instance, pre-GOF, that I can't recall where Harry's scar gave a false alarm that Fudge would know about? I can't think of one... Has Dumbledore been telling Fudge about Harry's scar hurting (not bloody likely)? Is he referring to Harry's episode in Trelawney's classroom? But he wouldn't know what that meant...WHO THE HELL IS HE TALKING ABOUT??? Now I'm just confused.
But VERY,VERY excited:)
UPDATE: Apparently, it IS a typo. My UK version is missing the word "never", so I wasn't imagining it and can put my mind to rest on this subject. Thanks
