Fun physics to teach children that do not live with you!
Teach said whipper snapper about solid and liquid state, explain to them that in rheology some particularly long molecules such as those of cornstarch tend to get tangled up when subjected to pressure or if the system is bothered. Explain that if they mix equal parts of water to cornstarch, and pick up a glob of the liquid and start rolling it really fast it will turn to putty! And if they hit it fast and hard enough, the fluid solution will shatter! And that whenever they cease pressure or movement, it will turn back from a solid state to a liquid state.
This is not only a good lesson in science, but wonderful and particularly messy revenge for an in-law, sibling, ex, or cousin who has just severely pissed you off.
