The Castle Fun Park was predominately a miniature village with attractions thrown in. through the 70's and at least early 80's it was a definite attraction with many older WA residents having fond memories of the place. Over time it has shut down and after years of neglect, bushfires, vandalism and encraoching suburbia, the site will soon vanish forever. Jethro and I went there on Sunday, February 7th and captured these pics before they vanish completely.
Whilst attempting to reasearch any history or facts about the site, we have learned that a photographer by the name of Jason Spiers actually came to the site a few years agao after a bushfire went through and took a series of photos for an exhibition.
So apologies in advance for the lack of information on this site.
(We do try and provide facts and not just pics)
Entry wasnt an issue really...
The guy who built the site had a real thing for castles, this is the only miniature building left standing now.
You have to wonder what was daubed on there that needed covering up. Or, that is some heavy damage from the last bushfire.

Jethro hadnt been up these steps for about 20 years... Ahhh the nostalgia
Sometimes, it's the things that AREN'T graffitied that amaze
The highest tower
The gatehouse
View from the rear
I was honestly expecting birds to come out of there...
The inside was accessible and was decked out to be a throne room. Jethro told me that back in the day, the man who built this would sometimes dress as a king and hold "court" for the kiddies.
Children having a birthday could also sit on the throne and be king for a while.
How did that get in there...?
Materials used to make the window bars
The door that used to be here was made like a portcullis, just to add to the flavour lol

Actual conversation that took place;
Shirtninja: "Awesome... a Cave!!!"
Jethro: "Nope, that was just the pump-room for the pool"
Australia shaped pool
With a map of tasmania for the little ones
Once upon a time, suburban WA didnt have to worry abou water restrictions and could have impressive waterfall/fountain features
This wasnt the work of vandals, a fire ripped through this park a year or so ago
Dont let the trees fool you, this was once a pond with fountains
Sadly this was the most remains we saw of any of the other displays
The only one remaining of many lights throught the park
