" The Fool is the cause behind all effects, the power behind all manifestations and the seeds of the end sown in every beginning." - I chose to icon Katniss volunteering for Prim at the reaping, since it is this decision which sets the whole story in motion.
THREE OF SWORDS
"The Three of Swords is a dark gem that has many faces, none of which are particularly pleasant. There is rejection, sadness, loneliness, heartbreak, betrayal, separation and grief." - I chose to icon the pain Katniss feels when she realizes she is going back into the arena.
THE MOON
"This is a journey that must be made alone, in darkness and without a map or a compass. You must learn to rely on your own inner light to lead you along the true path." - Here I iconed Katniss completely alone in the arena, trusting only in herself to help her survive.
FIVE OF PENTACLES
"This card represents the dark night of the soul, when you must stumble around in the darkness because you can no longer see the light shining within you. Often, during times like this, salvation is not far away..." - Katniss is at her lowest moment here, but help, in the form of Peeta Mellark, is just around the corner.
NINE OF WANDS
"The strength to proceed against all odds is not a force that can be invoked, but that must be earned through adversity and challenges of all sorts. It is only available when every other option has been explored, when every stone has been turned, when the fuel gauge is teetering on empty but you still want to try one more time." - Katniss is broken and defeated, but she has to reach this moment in order to know that she is going to fight back with everything that's in her.
