So, I decided to read the California Statewide Special Election Official Voter Information Guide that I received in the mail, and I found that I must quote some interesting comments found in the Candidate Statement section:
Trek "Thunder" Kelly - "Dear Voters, please vote for me, thus breaking the Seventh Seal and incurring Armageddon. I will legalize drugs, gambling, and prostitution so they may be taxed and regulated..."
Larry Flynt - "California is the most progressive state in the union and I'm sure its citizens would welcome having a smut peddler who cares as their Governor."
Rich Gosse - "Single adults are the Rodney Dangerfields of our society. They 'can't get no respect.' I am the first candidate in California history to campaign on a Fairness for Singles Platform."
Darin Price - "It's still the economy stupid!"
Kevin Richter - "I breathe." (Yes, that's all it says)
Jeff Rainforth - "There is no other candidate. I am the one."
Ned Roscoe - "I am a grocer who, with his family, specializes in selling cigarettes to adults who make their own decisions."
Diane Beall Templin - "May the Lord give you the wisdom of Solomon as you vote."
B.E. Smith - "I spent two years in a federal prison because I grew medical marijuana for myself and others..."
The number of democratic people on the ballot whose statements just say "Vote no on the recall" is amusing.
And just for the record - Arnold doesn't have a candidate statement (neither do Gary Coleman or Mary 'Mary Carey' Cook - the pornstar) listed at all - funny that. Guess it will just go to prove that politics really is just one big popularity contest if he wins.
