Dean was alone in the motel room sprawled out on the bed struggling through a book. It wasn't that he had a hard time reading but that he just didn't like to read that made it so difficult. He had a hard time focusing when his mind kept skipping words and, hell, skipping to different thoughts altogether.

He didn't know where Sammy was but that was okay. (Although if he had realized the time he might have wondered.) He knew Sam was doing something for the current mission, either at the library getting more info or at a wi-fi spot on the internet getting more info, he couldn't remember which. Their current motel sucked balls for that, but there just wasn't enough money in the hole right now for them to avoid anything else.

So he read, oblivious to the time or the appearance of the angel.

"Dean," for some reason, he found it easier to announce his presence by addressing the other whose attention he presently sought. He spent a few minutes prior just watching the other read. It intrigued him, noting the body language and how even on simple tasks such as reading led to the hunter getting mentally side tracked.

He never paid much attention to the location the Winchester's stayed. They were always moving so whatever motel, hotel or what not they ended up in, it would soon change. There was no living habits aside from one belonging to the road that he could ever pick up from it aside from how the two brothers spent their nights. How they slept and what they dreamt of.

That was a little creepy so it was a good thing Dean didn't know about it. He glanced up sharply with a slight startle when he heard his name. He scowled briefly. "Damnit, Cas. We've been over this before. Make some God damned noise when you appear or something."

He closed the book and set it aside, thankful for the interruption despite outward appearances and stretched a little on the bed.

He bowed his head, stepping forward slightly, "My apologies. I'll... cause more of a ruckus the next time I drop by."

His eyes darted up to Dean for a moment before sinking back down to the floor. He breathed out a slow sigh wondering what it was he should offer his assistance to the case the brothers were currently investigating.

Dean shook his head partially in amusement, partially in mild disbelief over the angel's misunderstanding of simple human interaction. It never failed to amaze him just how alien the angel was when it came to people. He really was like a blank slant, ready to be molded into whatever type of person was around him. Or at least pick up some traits from them.

Even Dean had already realized he couldn't teach the angel everything. There was just a certain amount of righteousness to the angel that even Dean couldn't get around.

He supposed it wouldn't be Cas if it weren't for those traits, so overall he was all right with them.

The Winchester swung his legs around off the bed and sat up. He rubbed his face with his hands and then looked up and over at Castiel. "What's up?"

While the angel would be appreciative of being taught some things about the environment around him, others he wasn't so sure about but he did feel a little more comfortable having Dean as his sort of guiding light.

His eyes fell upon the now sitting figure as he stepped about the small motel room to glance at what Dean had strewn about, "I decided I should take a break from things momentarily. You had mentioned it might be worth... Relaxing so..."

It was a small change from the usual business.

It was true, the word 'relaxing' coming from the angel intrigued Dean very much. He watched Castiel carefully as he stepped about the room. He had a hard time imagining Cas relaxing even the slightest bit, but that wasn't going to stop the hunter from thinking up ways to encourage it.

Then he realized most of the ideas he had in mind wouldn't fly by the angel and he frowned in consternation.

He glanced down at the things he was using to do his research over and back up at Castiel, figuring out what the angel was up to. "Oh, no no. That is not how you relax. Relaxing implies not working. This is work. You don't get to do this." He waved a hand over the things.

He pulled his gaze away from the materials scattered about the room on that note, glancing over to Dean hesitantly, "What would you suggest then?"

A lot of things Dean considered relaxing, Cas tended to have a tough time with. The only existing exception to date seemed to involve drinking but the tolerance for an angel was far above and beyond that of a human's. He wasn't sure he'd feel good about having Dean attempt to keep up with him if they were to attempt such an exercise.

Dean considered the question for a moment. Drinking actually did come to mind, and it was the most appealing to Dean at the moment especially since the book still had his mind reeling in too many directions, but he wasn't sure that was so good for Castiel. Yeah, he thought it was hilarious the angel actually liked alcohol, but he almost felt bad about corrupting the winged guy. Which made a lot of his ways to relax completely out of the question.

Which in turn meant he was kinda stumped.

"Damn," he said softly to himself. This was harder than it should have been. He shook his head and then looked up at Castiel again. He waved the angel over. "How 'bout we just start with you physically relaxing. Sit."

Being waved over did stir some curiosity in the angel. He drew his hand away from the what he had been looking at to step closer to the bed which Dean was occupying.

His expression almost made it seem as though a question mark was visible above his head.

"Jesus H. Christ! Sit!" he ordered Castiel. How many times would he have to tell him before the angel listened and obeyed? Okay, wait, that was getting a little S&M in his head and Dean didn't like where that thought was going so he just--

Twitched faintly and stared at the far wall blankly as he cleared his mind.

Maybe the S&M would get him to obey a bit better--But uh, yeah, Cas is going to pretend he doesn't know what you're thinking about Dean and just sit down now with a confused expression.

"Are you sure it's appropriate to make use of his name like that?"

"I'm human. We curse and cuss and say the Lord's name in vain all the time. He'll get over it."

At least the angel was sitting now, but Dean couldn't remember what he had been trying to get the angel to do now so he was at a bit of loss what to do with him next. He was still...trying to get his thoughts back on track and away from...things.

He shook his head and buried his face in his hand as if trying to rub some sense into his brain.

Castiel let out a small sigh at Dean's explanation but accepted it anyways as he was probably right so as usual he would trust him on the matter.

He tried to come up with something of his own to do to relax but it seemed like Dean was stressing over something all the same. "If this is a bad time I could just... go," there was always work for the angel to do in the meantime.

"No," he answered without even having to think about it. Sam wasn't around and Dean was getting restless even though he probably should have been considering getting some sleep by now since they never when they'd get the change to try to catch some shut-eye these days.

He finally dared to look at Castiel. "Look, you should relax. I don't like how much you force yourself to do on your own." Vaguely, he was reminded of a few of his arguments with Sammy. They always seemed to get to the emotion stuff eventually even though they both tried their best to ignore it. Usually.

This time, however, he was the one broaching the subject--and over a damned angel, too. What was the world coming to. But as much as he hated to admit it, even to himself, Dean did care about Cas for some inexplicable reason.

His eyes moved towards Dean then away before finding a comfortable spot on the ground to stare at. Even Castiel realized it was usually the other way around with himself persisting on Dean for one thing or another. Today, that seemed things weren't the case.

What came to mind, he knew Dean likely would not be fond of hearing still, he didn't feel the need to lie to him, "It's not as if I'm forcing myself... Someone has to do it so..." He just took it upon himself to do it. Willingly. He glanced over to Dean as if to seek approval he wasn't sure he would find. Regardless, he did rely partially upon the hunter's guidance even for things like this.
