This was taken from the blockbuster employee lj community, its a great source of entertainment

A couple of weeks ago, some guy comes in, hands me a case, and says:

Guy: Check that in, please.
Me: This is a Hollywood Video case.
Guy: I know, just check it in.
Me: We can't check in a Hollywood case. This is Blockbuster.
Guy: Why the hell not?
Me: It's not ours.
Guy: Just check it in.
Me: Our inventory won't take it. You'll have to go to Hollywood Video.
Guy: Why can't you take it?
Me: It belongs to another business. Taking it would be stealing.
Guy: Look, guy, this thing's five days late. If you take it, I won't get late charges.
Me: Yes, you will. As far as I know, Hollywood still has late fees.
Guy: But I'd be returning it to you!
Me: But since you rented it from Hollywood, it falls under their terms and conditions.
Guy: So you're going to give me late charges just because Hollywood does it? That's false advertising!
Me: We won't. Hollywood will.
Guy: I'm gonna tell everyone your commercials are wrong!
Me: You can tell people what you want. But these are Hollywood's rules, not ours. It's their movie.
Guy: I'm gonna pay this, and never come back here again! How much is it?
Me: You owe us nothing.
Guy: So you're taking off the late charges?
Me: No, you owe them the money.
Guy: That's crazy. Take off the late charges or I'm never coming back here.
Me: The late charges are at Hollywood Video. I have no access to them. And you have to bring your movie to them for them to stop accumulating.
Guy: I'm getting out of here. These rules are stupid.

And as he leaves, he drops his movie in our outside dropbox.

The next day, he came to yell at our store manager Gary. He had been to Hollywood and told them his movie was at Blockbuster and he wasn't going back and getting it, so they put his account on hold
