'I've never... acted like this before.'
He pulled his legs up to his chest, pressing his earphones against his ears as he rested his forehead against his knees.

Minato didn't bother to look up, he was used to Orpheus speaking to him through his mind now. But he always found it strange how his thoughts always seemed louder than his music...
When we first became one...
"...I wasn't like this." Minato mumbled, hazy blue eyes turned to look out the window. The crescent moons lightly shone directly through the window, bathing the dark room in an eerie glow.
Ever since he had come here...his emotions were completely out of whack. He found himself talknig to people...actually wanting to grow closer to them. Something he never went out of his way to do.
It was better to just...let them do what they want. If you didn't expect things, you had no way of getting hurt...
...Right?

He hadn't expected much of this place...but he had made friends. Something he had never expected he would have after being pretty much ignored through most of his school days.
That was fine though. He was fine without them.
But Count D's words came back to him from that night...that night when...things changed even more.
"...you are probably making up for that now, unconsciously." He muttered, repeating the older mans words out loud. Somewhere deep down he wished for friends. And now he had some.
But then there was... "Sync..." Minato closed his eyes again, falling back against his bed as he draped an arm over his face.
Yes. There was Sync. After yesterdays events, he didn't know what to think anymore. He was probably just jumping to conclusions...something he never did.

Here he was. Obsessing over it like...well like a girl would.
It was stupid.
This was stupid.
It would be better to just forget these feelings. If something was going to happen...it would. And when the opportunity arises...
He'd rise up to take advantage of it.
But for now...
He had nothing. He'd wait.
He'd act normal, and things would be like they were back then. He'd be...himself again.
Then his heart wouldn't have to hurt like this anymore.

But what? What was there to say? There was no way to lure Minato out if he didn't want to leave that room.
"...Don't be selfish. Not too much anyway. I don't know why you are thinking about... things right now. But still."
Sync leaned is forehead against the door for a second. "...Be careful."
Reply
...Sync was right. He was being selfish, locking himself in here while forcing the others to stay in the other room. It was probably late, and they must have been tired...
"..." Quietly making his way over towards the door, Minato reached out a hand, the lock making a small 'click' as the door unlocked. He paused before opening the door slightly, glancing at Sync as he did so.
"...Sorry." His gaze turned to the ground, what had Sync meant by 'Be careful'? And just when he had finished his thinking for the day...

Sync gave Minato a calm look. "Don't let that happen to you." Because I'll be sad if you'd go away.
"Come on. It's late." The replica turned and handed Minato some water. "...Go to bed after that. Thinking takes up a lot of energy."
He felt tired and listless as well, worried about Minato, worried that things might... break apart.

"....You're right. It's a stupid thing to be thinking about."
He glanced up, that small fake smile still gracing his features. "...Things are fine the way they are. Right?" 'Just keep telling yourself that and you'll be fine.'
He rubbed the back of his hand against his forehead, giving a small sigh as he pushed the door open more. He moved to sit on the edge of his bed again, taking another sip of water. He hadn't realized how thirsty he was.
"...Never mind. A stupid question." His voice was quiet as he stared out the window again.

He glanced away. "I've had this nagging feeling in the back of my head for a while now," Sync muttered and sighed softly.
"Like there's something off about this all." Sync started pacing a bit. "...That something is just... not there." He stopped pacing to look at Minato.
"Maybe I'm just paranoid."
Reply
"Me too. Though it's probably different." Another swig of water. Sync was probably thinking about something different than him. Probably.
"...No, you aren't. Somethings not there." He muttered, running a hand through his bangs as he smirked down at the ground. He felt delusional.
'Those feelings I so desperately wish for are whats not there.'

He shook his head. "What do you think is missing?" Rubbing his temples, he sat down next to Minato, running a hand through his hair.
Minato seemed... off. Maybe this world was finally affecting him in a strange way...

Glancing over at the other boy he stared at him for a bit, trying to find at least something he could say to him. He liked being around him. He loved being around him. Despite trying to be rude sometimes...he was a nice, although awkward, guy.
"...."
If the feeling wasn't there, then he didn't really have anything to lose.
He turned to face Sync, using one hand to brush away the others bangs. He'd probably regret this later but...not doing this hurt too. He placed a light kiss on Sync's forehead before pulling away slightly, his head dropping so he wouldn't have to look at Sync.
"...That's what's missing." His voice was barely audible as he moved away from Sync.

"...What are you talking about?!" Sync stood up and gave Minato a helpless look. "Why did you...?! Are you insane? Why did you do that, it... that..."
Sync was struggling a bit. Scratch that, he was struggling a lot with himself but after a while he finally slapped Minato. "Don't do that again until..." His cheeks were flushed, he seemed really upset. "Just don't do it." Sync whirled around and stomped out of the room.
He needed time to figure this all out. He really did.

He smirked, rubbing the spot where he had been slapped. Scratch that, he'd probably backed him up into a corner.
But then there was...
'Don't do that again until...' It was probably just a slip of the tongue. He was pretty flustered after all.
It would just...bother him even more if he thought about it. So he wouldn't.
...Or at least he'd try not to.
