How do you know if a lamp is magical? And if it is, it can grant wishes...?

I think I'd wish that the Shadows wouldn't harm us...

Can't really remember it all, but it's a guy in some desert, he's some sorta thief-type thing. He hears a secret about a treasure in some cave, so he goes and looks for it.
The treasure turns out to be some crummy old lamp, so he's like, what the hell dude. He rubs it cause it's dusty, yaknow, maybe i's made of solid gold yeah?

So when he does that, a genie pops up, and says he'll grant him three wishes.

I forgot how it went from there, but.. yeah that's the story.

u.. the desert is pretty damn vague man... we could like... get lost or eaten by giant scorpions or something crazy like that.
