It's nice to be loved (best picspam evah by sev)

Ok on Thursday I got sick.

I'm still not exactly sure what it was, but I had very obvious braxton hicks contractions all day bugging me and making me short of breath - which I assumed was due to the extreme heat wave we'd been having all week here. Later I had chills (but no fever) and vomiting - the force of which seemed to throw me into what I assume was back spasms - a few hours of constant pain then with heightened spasm and throbbing about every eight minutes (to anyone who is afflicted with evil spasms, is this anything like what you get? My God).

No, I didn't go to the hospital because as they didn't get closer together I figured it wasn't labour and if it was it was false. When I called the dr's office later and explained that I'd never had back trouble before pregnancy so wouldn't know a back spasm when I felt one, however, their answer was 'but this is your first baby and you also wouldn't know back labour if you were having it, right?" WHAT. UGH. They told me if my back really kept killing me all weekend it was time to come in. Well heck. It wasn't killing me any more, but it felt like torn muscles in my ribs and back (and now feels like a pinched nerve or something in my neck, but constant hot showers are helping). To sum up: it was also day 8 or something of my not sleeping through the night and eitiher that or this scaryass bizniz pretty well fucked my shit up mind and body for the weekend. My deepest sympathies to anyone who goes through this on a regular basis.

I'm so lucky though. Because upon hearing I was under the weather, severina's immediate response was this:

Oh yeah. I have good friends. <3

In other news, the baby does seem to have dropped.
I'm still another 3-4 weeks out. Stay tuned!
