the "about me" section

I just feel odd discarding it - it defined me for so long.

I don't really like red and white mints that you can get when you leave restaurants but I always take one anyway, because it's free? I don't know. I like the chocolate and brown ones though. My window is open even though it's cold outside. I'm dating someone by default. There's the sweetest song ever coming out of my speakers, which means my itunes, but I've never heard it before in my life. Jason copied my music listing style, probalby because he wants to be a pirate. I always used to pick up shells at the beach, but this last Christmas I didn't because I already have about 80 billion. Does that mean I'm growing up? I hope not. Really really hope not. I don't keep a diary even though I wish I did so then I could remember things. Someday I will have a hedgehog named Snokomo. Did you know that, after monkeys, hedgehogs are the most closely evolutionarily related animals to humans? I didn't know that. I think I'm shallower than I think I am and you think too, because I really, really love my turtle teapot from Bali. I wish Jason had a sprint phone. Avenue Q saved my life once. I miss my family.

and the "music" section:

I love house music (ministry of sound, basement jaxx, starsailor, michael gray) and reggae with all its past and present alterations (good ol' bob and sons, beres hammond, all the reggaeton, raga, dancehall). Recently I have been delving into current hip-hop (hilltop hoods, scapegoat wax, still looking for more, any suggestions?) I also just really appreciate chill stuff in general (jack johnson, buddha bar) I have an ever expanding love for international stuff, expecially latin american, african, indian, middle eastern, european folk and rap (juanes, celia cruz, manu chao, mana, shakira!). I am always looking for and loving new avant-garde stuff (stars, badly drawn boy, broken social scene, and older ones too like beck and radiohead). I revel in jazz, but prefer it to be live (buena vista social club, trey anastacio, theolonius, and old jazzy people). I grew up on classic rock (eric clapton, tom petty, allman brothers, doobie bros.). I have a powerful acquired taste for opera, and classical has its uses (debussy, rachmaninoff, verdi, puccini, rossini). I like most things that most people like (most everything you hear on the radio, the classics of each decade and the current stuff, whatever it's called), and also random stuff that not so many people know (dispatch, guster) I do like rap, actually. I don't like music where people yell at you. Or greenday.

and movies:
the (original) blues brothers, city of god, finding neverland, frida, wedding crashers, endless summer, house of flying daggers, the christmas story, lock stock adn two smoking barrels, zoolander, amelie, lord of the rings, chick flicks, big fish, eternal sunshine..., pirates of the caribbean, cold mountain, run lola run, singing in the rain

and books:
life at these speeds, the scarlet pimpernel, me talk pretty one day, everything is illuminated, the count of monte cristo, anything by isabel allende, anything lonely planet

moving on is bittersweet
