This bites

In other news, I am completely unable to look at any individual user's LJ (including my own) while I'm logged in. I go from my logon page to any other page, and I'm logged off when I get there. Does anybody have any idea what's going on here?

Try just clicking on the "login" button - the works for me a lot of the time. It just reminds it that I am already logged in.

Alternately, it could be the browser you are using. I found that happens a lot if you are using Mozilla Firebird or Netscape.

Damn IE bastards!

Yeah, I'm in Firefox. I click the "login" button and it says "what are you talking about? You are logged in, but here's the login page just in case you really want it!" And then I go to my LJ or my friends' page, and I can't see any of the protected entries.

I don't want to have to start using IE again, damnit!

Weird, it's working fine for me in Firefox 1.5

I'm thinking it's my firewall, since it's working fine on my laptop using the same browser. I'm using an old version of the free Kerio Personal Firewall on the desktop- the laptop uses the firewall that came with windows.

An IT professional I've long respected recommended Zone Alarm FREE to me as the best solution and added that Norton and Mcaffees were almost worse than nothing. From what I've seen this seems to be the case because much of the time users of Mcaffees and Norton need to turn off protection to visit websites. They don't conform to your needs as well as Zone Alarm.

I'm concerned because you specify Old version Zone Alarm FREE allows free updates, no issue of an old version there.

Here is the link the he page showing the different versions. I've paid for the pro version for one of my systems and there'd virtually no difference between the two, so I use the free one on everything else.

I'm using firefox 1.0.7 and I'm not having a problem. maybe it is a firewall problem. I am using ZoneAlarm. What are you all using?
