(no subject)
okay so i haven't updated this in forever. there is so much to say!
lets see where can i start. well these past few weeks have been the worst at school. cary academy has brainwashed us to care about grades more than anything in the world...i am so sick of it and so ready for it all to be over. i mean how much of a difference is it going to make in my life if i get into unc or wake forest or emory? the sad thing is that we are told every day that college is everything so we can't think any differently. the thing i'm most scared about is that all my hard work and no sleep won't pay off in the end and that i'm working towards nothing. i mean yeah i can try to keep my hopes up but you never know. okay i'm gonna stop..we've constantly complained to each other day in and day out..while the venting helps it also just stresses us out even more.
on a happier note, basketball season is over. no offense to my bball ladies, it has been fun but it has just lasted too long and it was too much time spent with the infamous coach bennett. i think about it and the last 5 weekends have been taken up by basketball...not to mention having practice for practically 2 and half hrs every night for the past 4 months. it was a good experience in lots of ways though..dealing with the immaturity of my parents and the obsessive compulsiveness of my coach. i'm told not to go to practice by my parents and that i have to go to practice by my coach every day and the stress from it on top of everything else just got old. at least we were a winning team...25-5 for the season, the best record in our school history and not to mention TISAC regular season champions!
on an even happier note, there is much more good news! it is as follows:
1) i got hired for 2nd session at camp!!! after lots of praying and worrying, the phone call from mark balser saying i was hired was the best news i think i have heard in a long time. (i can't go first session b/c of 5 weeks i'm spending in China, which believe it or not i am looking forward to that trip now too.)
2)i FINALLY got my tickets for new orleans to see taylor!! BIG NEWS. i'm going the second week of spring break for 4 days!
i have two cameras to get the film developed and i'm hoping to get a digi camera before my trips this summer..so yeah i am sure there will be some pictures up here soon! i don't even remember what was on the film so it will be a suprise! (i know, my pics are always so exciting! haha)
to everyone at the academy who is going through stressful and emotional times, just know that this stupid crap will be over soon after finals and the SAT! as much as we are told, our life doesn't depend on what happens to us in highschool and what colleges accept us. i am here for whoever needs to vent. <3
