Yeah, my brain works in mysterous ways, its wonders to perform...

Most notably aboard the Titanic. Talk about over-egging a dramatic moment. RTD does nothing to anything less than excess.

Capaldi!Doc had a very intense expression...

Yeah, 8.5 makes as much sense as anything, I think.

Hmm - doesn't mean TNotD won't be on a DVD release, though. Have you caught up with The Five(ish) Doctors Reboot yet? Do check it out because it's brilliant and so funny - esp John Barrowman's section.

I was astounded that Moffat & co managed to keep (for example) Tom Baker's involvement such a secret, esp in this day and age. I like Clara quite a bit, but some of her story just pissed me off - but then that's me and Moffat's women. Moffat's female companions always have to be mysterious somehow, and it's getting really tedious, as far as I'm concerned.

Mmm, good point, though I doubt anyone'll bother making icons of Peter de Jersey and Ken Bones for my delight!

ETA: I just checked Amazon UK, and here's what it says about the DVD for the special:

This must-have DVD contains the eagerly anticipated feature length anniversary episode, 2 mini-episodes including the explosive Night of the Doctor starring Paul McGann, Doctor Who Explained, Behind the Lens and more!

So Yay!

Oh good! So then maybe I just need to wait it out, or buy it on DVD instead of having it in digital format. I tip my hat to you and your fine detective work. :)

And I'm holding out for icons of supporting characters. I'm just getting back into LJ, and I'd love some good ones to add to my arsenal.

And Capaldi's look was quite serious! I wonder what kind of Doctor he's going to be? And if his tenure will focus on the search for Gallifrey? What I'd really love is if his tenure was marked with Neil Gaiman taking over as show runner. The stories would be EPIC. (Btw, did you notice the 'vetting' board in the background in the scene where Ten & Eleven give Kate & Zygon!Kate the ultimatum? Has a nice big picture of the lovely Liz Shaw on it. Big pic of Sarah Jane as well from her first story with Three I think. I squeed quite a bit, and this is my third time watching the special. Fairly certain I saw our dear Dr Sullivan on there as well. Joys of insomnia and all that...)

I was looking for The Five(ish) Doctors online, but it's not available for me to stream through any..."legit" source. And since I'm in bed on my iPad, I'll probably have to watch it tomorrow on my laptop and setup a proxy address so I can view it on iPlayer. Or download it from somewhere. I do wish BBC America's site had a version of iPlayer too for those of us stateside, but I guess I understand why. Would have been nice if they at least made it available On Demand on cable services...

Kinda wish I would have felt up to going to the theater (neé cinema) to see TDotD in 3D. It's only a few minutes away and it would have been so cool. Though they are showing it again tomorrow...Hmm.

I kind of ignored a lot of the Elizabeth stuff. She was like the cracker you put the appertifs on. Important...until you get to the good stuff. ;)

Also, not cool to leave the Virgin Queen behind before she even gets to consummate the marriage. Good thing Lizzie had lovers in waiting. Cause man! That otherwise would suck.

Also, so glad I had my Classic!Who moment a few years back and did a binge on classic stories and watched The Brain of Morbius. Kind of feel sad for those who watched the special and the minisode who haven't. They're gonna be sooo confused! LOL

And can I say how I have missed chatting with my lovely Pers about all things Fannish. *big hugs* And now I'll get to chat with you about writing original fics as well! (As if I haven't already talked your ear off about that and a myriad of other things.) Not to hijack this thread, but you were my first LJ friend, and remain my best LJ friend cause you're also my RL friend, and quite a bloody good one at that!

Sorry...my pain meds just started to kick in, and Oxycodone and insomnia are enough to make me go all soppy and silly...on the best of days. :)

But I luffs ya much!! Which you already know. But as great as you've been to me, I can't say it enough. And one day we shall meet and hug it out IRL and do lunch. And maybe catch a show together. I am trying to plan for fall 2014/spring 2015 to return to the UK now that I have hope again regarding my health. I guess I'm trying to say that forewarned is forearmed. ;-)

Ok. I'm gonna stop rambling now. Promise. :-D

Well finding the info wasn't hard.

I confess I've ditched a huge number of my icons since I don't use LJ that much, but nevertheless, I want some of Hurt!Doctor, PdJ and Ken Bones just because...

The Five(ish) Doctors is on the Den of Geek site here - I'm assuming, since DoG isn't British that it will actually play for you!

Yeah - much as I was amused to see two Kate Stewarts (because Jemma Redgrave is totally hot!), etc, it was definitely a sub-plot. The vetting board also, apparently featured a pic of Martha - though I missed seeing it myself.

*hugs back* I've missed chatting with you too - I'm so glad you're finally recovering and back around again. And I would LOVE to meet up with you in RL and hug you properly!

You can stream the Five-ish Doctors from iPlayer even if you're not in the UK. I just did from the US with no worries whatsoever. :)

Hmm. Then maybe they're platform is just broken for mobile devices because it won't come up on my iPad at all.

But thx for the heads up! :-)

It may stream in flash, in which case the solution is to download iSwifter and try the link from there. If that's not the problem, that won't work, but iSwifter is handy to have in any case, for just such emergencies. :)
