(Can I just say that Alesha in a rollneck sweater makes me happy in my pants?! Sorry TMI!)
James: Getting fresh in a girls' changing room is hardly an indictable offence at 13. Alesha: Is there something you want to tell me. James' laugh sounds a bit nervous here - and my plot bunny is rampaging!
Hm. Interesting.
- James: Vodka tonic, two blobs of ice, slice of lime. Alesha: How did you know I'd show up? James: You always do. Why would this case be any different? Alesha (whispers): Thank you. Eeee! My fanon is canonical!! I always have them going to the pub for a drink post-trial!
I need to watch this episode so badly now! I recently got into watching it and I started reading your reviews because I had a feeling you would write them =]
On a completely related (possibly un-related note), I'm guessing you have the picspam peppered throughout the review, yes? And it's connected to scrapbook because I can't see the images. Sorry. More incentive to watch the ep.
Yes, the picspam's peppered throughout the review - pics are appended where relevant to my comments. Sorry that you can't see them - is there any particular reason why they're not showing up for you?
I think I'm going to do a "Five Conversations Alesha Had" after the next episode airs - and I shall include an Alesha & Ronnie friendship conversation. She's also going to talk to Teddy.
It felt perfectly pitched to the situation. I loved that moment when she tells James that she knows Sally's lying--she's so self-possessed.
There were really so many wonderful moments throughout this one. I think the writers have really got the characters now, and the actors are a really great ensemble. While they're still using US plots, the show feels like its own animal now.
Yes, I loved that moment too - and James' face afterwards - because he knew how desperately Alesha wanted to believe Sally, so he knew how much that knowledge was going to hurt Alesha.
I've been saying to my mum (who also watches) that the writers and actors are far more confident of their characters this season.
The second season (I guess it was the third season for y'all) is going to start here (in the States on BBC America) on Friday. I am ready to start swooning

As for Parental!Ronnie, I love it! I'd definitely love to see a non-shippy Ronnie/Alesha fic...
Now I have a flaily and rampageous plot bunny to deal with!
W00t!

I'm not promising any non-shippy Ronnie/Alesha fic - but if I can...
Didn't get much done with the plot bunny yesterday as the day was epically shite!

No worries! Fic or no fic, I'm still happy. :)
BOO!
