Hmmm...

I enjoyed it mostly, but that was in a 'LOL WTF' kind of way...

The new Daleks look like retro Daleks on steroids - shorter, squatter and huge around. Also V retro colours. Moff really is harking back to original Who, is he not? And I'm still not completely sold on Eleven - I still could hear Ten in there and really, apart from wanting to commit genocide on the Daleks (didn't he banish himself for doing that before?) and giving the Paisley boy an uppercut (Can I say I completely disapprove ;) ) You could still have dropped Ten in there and he wouldn't have been out of place. I really wanted him to be completely different and I don't think we're getting that. I'm also not really loving the spitfires in space malarky or the dialogue - At one point I thought that 'Danny Boy' was going to do a Star Wars attack after knocking out the power beam.

As for Amy not recognising the Daleks - Hmm. I was wondering if the Doc and fallen through that crack in time when the TARDIS crashed and is in an alternate universe without knowing. However, this does not explain River next week, so I'm guessing I'm wrong. I usually am.

All in all, Fun. Ish. And I too am still not liking the theme at ALL.

(ETA God, that was a crap post, sorry! Jumps all over the place!!)

Moff is definitely in a harking mood. (Damn, I nearly typed Harkness then! o_O)

I don't like the multicoloured Daleks - but then again, I'm not six!

I don't think it's the Doctor who's out of time, I think it's Amy... Might explain why the TARDIS has been unintentionally late three times in three episodes!

And I know what you mean about Eleven!

I did wonder if it's Amy that's wrong, too, after typing that. It's all going to be in the finale, I'm sure. I think Moff is saving his overblown for that/them.

I really fight shy about saying negative stuff about MS/Eleven - he seems to have been clutched to many a girls fluttering heart in just one ep and hailed as greatest ever Doctor by others that I feel I'll be accused of 'you can't get over Tennant, you fangirl you' and although I do fancy the pants off him, it's really NOT that. I feel the same about MS as I did about Ecclescake - I'm liking the show, it's fun to watch, but he doesn't feel like the Doctor to me. Maybe that will change. However, I never really did get over Tom Baker leaving, so maybe I am just an old stick in the mud ;)

I'm convinced Time is bending around Amy somehow because of ye olde cracke in the wall...

There's nothing WRONG with not being able to get over Tennant. Anyone who says others can just STFU!

He was, to me, just everything I want from a Doctor. He WAS the Doctor and I never didn't believe that about him. I think his total love of it shone through and just carried everyone along. I'm not feeling that from Matt, rightly or wrongly. Maybe I'll change my mind - it has only been two eps I've seen... Perhaps I just need to see him a bit more. I'm a bit of a River fan, so I'll see what goes on next week.

Your honest reaction is perfectly acceptable here - I will NEVER diss anyone for being disappointed by a Who episode - not when it's happened to me so often.

I tend to measure all Dalek episodes against Rob Shearman's Big Finish audio play "Jubilee" - and I tend to find new Who Dalek episodes wanting...
