As mentioned above, I also love the "best friend ever/ever best friend" line. It's so Doctor - and a hell of a lot better than what we got on TV. *grumbles on Martha's behalf.* Also the way he rakes Charlie down in Scherzo - something I'd like to see him do more often on TV, point out that when he's made a valiant sacrifice, it would be nice if it wasn't undone by the person he was sacrificing himself for!

The Time Lords believe the Doctor's companions are 'momento mori' - reminders of death - because they're short-lived humans and Time Lords are long-lived...

It's a nicer image than Doctor as cosmic crazy cat lady!

Have you heard the making of? It's a bit interesting to hear the other actors talking about how they did their non-standard roles (except Peter, who says a bit plaintively, "I was playing the Doctor in a dog-collar, really.")

Yes! It is sweet the way everyone is Eight's best friend - and yet I never feel that he doesn't actually mean it whomever he's talking about.

Definitely!!

LOL No, I haven't. I really must make the effort to listen to the Making Of - I skipped it yesterday because I was concentrating on listening to all three audios back to back.

All the Doctors and Eight in particular tend to be "love the one you're with" types, IMO. They're very affectionate... as long as you're in their line of sight.

I think Ten's probably the only one who doesn't go for 'out of sight, out of mind' (at least where Rose is concerned!)

Pretty much. There have been callbacks to other companions, which is nice, but otherwise - yeah - out of sight, think about rarely.
