Although she's been in it before, I think an actress we've not heard about is a good thing. We won't have expectations and Matt Smith will be able to (hopefully) shine in his first series without people concentrating on his companion instead.

I expect a 'Damn, not ginger again!' comment XD

Odds are that probably won't happen, at least not without a female there too. Because of the dynamic that the producers are looking for between charies.
