Ben Daniels Picspam - Madeline
In the 1998 film Madeline, Ben Daniels plays Leopold the tutor - although he's not really a tutor, he's there to kidnap Pepito, the son of the Spanish Ambassador to France.
Our first sighting of Leopold, taking photos of Pepito, makes it clear he's up to no good.
Further proof comes when he tries to chat up Miss Clavel - the nun who looks after Madeline and the other girls who live in the school next door to the Spanish Ambassador's residence!
He takes Pepito to the museum - where he's more interested in catching up on his sleep than in helping the boy further his education.
Madeline overhears Leopold plotting in the library at the Spanish Ambassador's residence - he's in league with three clowns from the circus.
Leopold non-verbally urges his co-conspirator to get Pepito's parents out of the way, then persuades him away from the ring where the clowns are performing.
Leopold grabs Pepito and sticks him in the back of the clowns' truck - but Madeline has spotted them, and she threatens to tell Miss Clavel. Leopold pretends to be scared, before grabbing her and shoving her in the back of the truck too. He figures kidnapping twice as many kids means twice as many ransoms!
Overnight, Leopold listens to the news reports of the police hunt for Pepito.
The next morning the children decide to make their escape...
...then Miss Clavel turns up...
...and despite some desperate driving on Leopold's part...
...she runs them off the road, so they get arrested!
