Good for Martha, not letting him sweet-talk his way back in!

(One nitpick - 3 days is a very short time for stitches. More like a week. Or two.)

She'd be daft if she did!

Thanks. I meant to check that, and then forgot (got distracted, bad Pers!) I'll edit it.

Oh, dear, I probably should have picked that one! So much for medical student expertise... :P

To be fair, I should have checked. I had every intention of doing so, but got distracted...

Mind you, I've seen wounds that have healed so well after 24 hours that you could almost get away with removing the stitches! Of course, that's a fairly significant 'almost'...

I don't think it'd be likely in this case though!

You know, I think you're right. :)

I know that with patients who are really uncomfortable with stitches, the doctor can sometimes use a dissolving suture, but I've only ever seen those in ophthalmic surgery, and I know the doctor with whom I did my placement prefers a silk suture that has to be manually removed later because the wound heals more neatly that way.

...Gosh, that sounded a little nerdy, didn't it?

My inner medical student chooses the oddest times to assert herself!

Heh! With me, it's the inner historian that usually breaks out!

That could be potentially useful to a fanfic writer...
