my dearest holmes,

So, I saw the Sherlock Holmes movie at long last. It only took me so long because of my apprehension that a wonderful actor like RDJ would ruin one of my favorite characters of all time. I adore the books and I continue to think Jeremy Brett is the quintessential Holmes. That hasn't changed. I thought that it was a 'good' movie, action packed and stuffed with the bromance and violence that the new hip take on Holmes required. It was a good movie and the different take on the characters was enjoyable. Except for Irene- I don't like super awesome clever ladies like her being reduced to a plot device/ beard.
Oh dear I'm ranting. Well it wasn't unexpected. In short, good movie but not my Holmes. Jude Law as on par with that first Watson who played with Brett that I really liked- and that's only because he was very pretty. (Stop whining Watson and get with the program, maybe you'll be number one after the next movie.)
I'm mostly glad that I saw this for the SOUNDTRACK. That was gorgeous and fun and I wants it. I hope there is some real violin playing on the soundtrack because really, Holmes can do a hell of a lot more with a violin than pluck at it! ... Yes. Soundtrack.

.... I need a Holmes userpic.

Also, the picture I've been working on will be posted straight to deviantart afterall. Oh well.

That's about it. I'm very busy.
