They skipped out on a lot of stuff. They didn't even have the battle scene from right after Dumbledore's death which leads to a number of things happening. So no, I didn't like it.
- Actually, I'll elaborate a bit.
There are a lot of things about this movie that I had a huge dislike for and all of them put together crushed any/all my liking for the movie. • Hagrid wasn't pissed at them for not being in CoMC. • They should have showed more memories so that people understand Horcruxes/Voldemort better in general, especially for people who had never read the books. • They didn't even mention that Ginny was dating Harry • Tonks and Remus were together already • They didn't have Tonks be the one to rescue Harry from the train • Draco was supposed to be a lot more injured from that Sectumsempra spell • They didn't use brooms to go to the cave • Dumbledore didn't make it clear that he was reliving some awful shit from his past while drinking that water ("its all my fault" being said once and so quietly you have to strain to hear it, doesn't count) • They skipped Cormac knocking the shit out of Harry in Quidditch • Dumbledore wasn't weak enough when he was on the tower to die • Harry wasn't immobilized on the tower - which defeats the purpose of Dumbledore's death. If Harry isn't immobilized, I really can't see him being like "lol o that's cool, lets all threaten the headmaster, woot!" And Snape telling him to shush was kind of ridiculous. • There was no fight scene which, had the movie followed to books, would have led to Tonks and Remus getting together; also it would have proven to Molly Weasley that Fleur was not just some superficial little French girl who was after her son. • Bill, obviously, wasn't mauled and his being a werewolf in future movies (supposing they even use him at all) won't make sense. • There was absolutely no mention of the wedding at all, which leads me to believe they're just omitting it. • There was no mention of Rufus Scrimgeour • Bellatrix was too eager for the unbreakable vow whereas in the books she was shocked that Snape would have gone along with it to begin with • They never mentioned that Madam Rosemerta was imperiused by Draco • Harry was supposed to go alone to Borgin and Burke's to see Draco in there, alone, threatening Borgin. • Should have been more to Fenrir Greyback than there was • They completely skipped out on the Dursley's scene where Dumbledore tells Petunia she's ruined Dudley by spoiling him • They mentioned that Dean and Ginny were arguing but never made it clear that she and Dean broke up, making it seem as though she cheated on him by kissing Harry (for the people who never read the books, anyway) • The scene with Harry picking up the elder wand isn't clear if that's before or after the funeral - which also did not have a scene. If it was after the funeral, then it's completely wrong since the wand is buried with Dumbledore. • They didn't even state that Snape was helping Dumbledore with his dying body, which was kind of important to the reason why Snape is vaguely alright with ending his pain.
I could go on, but yeah. There is a lot wrong with this movie. It is not the best one they made. They ruined the adult concept of this film by making it for children. They completely forget that the characters in the book grow as the novels progress - and so do the readers. Instead of focusing on a children crowd, they should be marketing the movies for the correct age.
