No,I believe people cheered. Dude,I saw Pay if Forward in theatres. People clapped and cheered at the end of that.

Eh,it's another button-pushing film with okay acting and a really hokey ending. The heavy-handedness of the material, plus the needless removal of Spacey's shirt(-vomit-) didn't offset the joy I felt when they killed that annoying little brat off at the end of the film.
