Awesome HP weekend is awesome!
Back and settled in from visiting with dorkyhobbit, eiros001, and younglizbeth in Chicago for the HP WEEKEND SPECTACULAR, which was, of course, SPECTACULAR! We saw the movie (Burrow burning and changed ending FTL) and visited the Harry Potter Exhibition at the Museum of Science and Industry. The Exhibition was bigger than I thought it would be, but I was a bit disappointed that there weren't lengthy explanations of how any of the props or costumes were created, and there wasn't an Exhibition book you could buy. Cameras weren't allowed inside the Exhibition, and I wanted some nice, glossy pics, dammit! The only thing you could photograph was the Weasleys' car:
which is so small, I'm not sure how they fit four people in it, even children. I also tossed around a few Quaffles, sat in Hagrid's MASSIVE chair, and bought a cool Slytherin necklace. Why no love for the Ravenclaw, though, Exhibition peoples?! LOL
Possibly the coolest thing was Snape's collection of creepy potions ingredients in jars and his wand, which was black and adorned with what almost looked like oriental carvings on the handle. Really gorgeous, and I probably would've paid a lot of money for a copy of one, but alas, no copies were to be had!
