Yes, I seem to have written something again, and I like it well enough a week later to post it here and in a few other places as well. As always, constructive criticism is sought

This is wonderful! I think I especially love that I can almost identify which crewmwmber thinks of River in which way. I didn't expect the other one thinking in the silence to be Jayne. It makes sense though and was a nice compliment to the first part.

well, I admit I have my own special hell-worthy ulterior motives for the particular symmetry used here.

I'm glad that even though you weren't expecting it, you thought the two pieces worked well together.

I had a harder time separating out the crew questions for Jayne, because I think the crew's thoughts about him aren't quite as complex or varied as they are about River.

reading it through again, I see the same thought went into Jayne's internal questions, as to who thinks what about him. Very Cool!

I seem to have had a bright flare of writing inspiration, and then it sort of faded, but I would like to do a piece for each of the crew. This was written in anticipation of a larger work, so I could get to know the characters better.
