Happy New Year! May it be a good one. The past one has gone well for me and mine, for which I am grateful, though I am sorry for the many who have had losses.
In 2007, I finished my Ph.D. I'm doing a short postdoc in the same lab (probably about a year) to follow up on some things, an opportunity I'm very glad to have had.
In conjunction with that, though, there are some things I need to do in 2008, such as figure out what direction I want to take my career and find an appropriate new job. There are also some things I've let myself get altogether too lax about. Most of them are things I used to do better, though sometimes this was because I was required to. I must learn to require myself.
