I have just learned that strawberries and roses are (relatively) close kin. Genus Fragaria vs. genus Rosa. I suddenly want to work "fragaria" into a Star Wars fic. I bet the people who freak out about excessive earth references totally miss it.
Okay, maybe I just want an excuse for the word "fragberries."
So, in other news, my husband has a new job. He's still doing some stuff for the tax prep place -- teaching one of their evening courses, at the moment -- but the new franchise owner brought in some person of her own as office manager and hasn't been doing as much in the way of off-season work. So now he's helping convert the campus library from Dewey to LC, which is not exactly a career goal of his but a pretty cool interim thing.
The shoulder strap to my laptop bag has given up the ghost. Bah. That was a replacement strap, too, after about the same thing happened to the first one! Perhaps I should carry a different bag. Or less stuff.
My unexpectedly inexpensive pants, however, seem to be resistant to getting weird nubbly places on my hip where the bag rubs, though. Which is better than knit does (which isn't surprising) and better than one pair of jeans does, of all things. Good for them! (Still should maybe put in a button or something, though. The hook is odd.)
And my broccoli has sprouted!
