well...

I just talked to our brand spankin new in-office recruiter and I'm a little less upset.

He is the first person I've met in our office who is *very* San Francisco (well, outside of the programming team). The only other person in our office to have a tongue piercing and he's very queer.

Yay!

Was there a reason to be upset?

see earlier post about my assistant wanting to change departments... I already had an open req, so this takes me down 2 people from what I need to run efficiently

Ah, I wasn't sure if they were related or not.

Haha...the doc in my office the other day asked me to open my mouth so he could check my throat and he wasn't expecting the tongue ring. He was like "Whoa! Metal mouth!" I just laughed. :)

So he has a plan to get you a good assistant?

Yes. And he wanted to know exactly what I needed, knew exactly what I was talking about regarding my needs and was totally responsive.

I hope he stays working here. lol

That's awesome! Sometimes I feel a bit out of place...I have 2 tongue piercings, and no one else around me at work is queer. :-)

I frequently feel pretty out of place here. lol

So it is really nice when more outwardly queer people show up.

Hey there...um, I finally write some poetry (sorry I've been behind - I really am taking your assignments seriously :-)) when I noticed a ton of your entries don't show up on my friends page anymore. I looked at your journal and this is the last entry I can view. I was trying to post my poem on the post you made about the assignment.

I know sometimes people find it necessary to lock down entries...I hope this isn't the case. :-( Or maybe my lj is just messed up. In any case, let me know where to post the poem or if I still can. Thanks! :-)

Wow, I'm very sorry to hear that, I really enjoyed reading your lj. :-( And I was looking forward to those poetry assignments.

Thanks again.
