Yuletide 2014

Oct 31, 2014 23:30

I'm a little late with my letter - sorry! Busy time of year for me:-) Annnnyway... thank you for matching on one of my fandoms; I love them all and re-read and re-read so literally anything will be well received.
To be honest, the details that I put in my request letter are as detailed as I get on concepts for the fandoms, so I guess the only useful information is  general likes and dislikes.
I'm on A03 as http://archiveofourown.org/users/perryvic
And my co-author has another archive where I appear at http://www.caffiends.net/
Despite my co-author's best  and partially  successful attempts to corrupt me, I really do like every genre. Including gen (yes don't faint). I like humour, angst, action, plot etc. I'll read anything!
I enjoy plot, fixing plot holes and world building in particular and snappy dialogue. To be frank the characters sitting around just being the characters would be great if they are written well:-) Please take any inspiration and run with it!

I put my prompts here in case it help!

The Tiffany Aching Series - Terry Pratchett

Summary

I love the Tiffany Aching series - it's got great relationships, and continuity. I really don't mind what I get but I think the relationship with Tiffany and Preston is surely going to be very interesting and possibly Tiffany' greatest challenge in a way. Something on that, or what the Nac Mac Feegle make of it all, or advice given would be great. You don't have to include all the characters, any combination or even solo is awesome.

Belgariad/Malloreon Series - David & Leigh Eddings

Ah, the Belgariad and Mallorean, one of my comfort reads. I love the characters, the fantasy world all of it. I've selected all the characters because I would be happy to see all of them, or some of them or anything in whatever combination inspiration takes you. I know that's not particularly helpful! However, I will say I have been asking for something orientated around Silk for years as I think he is a very complex fun, deep and underrated character and if you want to do something about him, or what the others think of him I would be very pleased. I also love the sorcery and fantasy side of thing, so I'd enjoy any of that too!

Discworld: Ankh-Morpork Novels - Terry Pratchett

Summary

I am a die-hard Terry Pratchett fan and the fact I started on the Guards series has left me with a definite fondness for Vimes. Vetinari too, he is shown to have more depth than a lot of characters and the interactions between Vimes and the Patrician are fantastic. There seems to be a strange back handed sort of respect there while being completely opposite. As well, I am very intrigued by the implications of the Summoning Dark, and the way it marked Vimes almost as an instrument of its dark vengeance. I included Susan as she might be useful if you go down the Summoning Dark route! Don't feel obliged to include all the characters if you don't want to!
