RP- "We Won't Stumble Through Tonight"
There was laughter unhinged by alchohol and unhindered by the daily tedium upset by the cheerful, content atmosphere of the party. Peter felt a peace come over him as he realised this was for him, these people were here because he has succeeded in something, made himself something more than what he had been.
Peter was happy in this until his family had arrived-- without his father.
What disrupted his sense of contentment further was the notice that Gabriel hadn't arrived-- yet...
As he watched Heidi drag Nathan away for a slow if slightly spastic turn on the floor, he saw his mother trying to get his attention, he did what any self-respecting, self-saving Petrelli male would do-- he avoided her and hid out on the fire escape nursing (Ha! the reason for tonight celebration turned pun!) copios amounts of alchohol.
At least until he heard the buzzer and saw Nathan and his mother making for the door...
