Okay...since Axel seems to think it's a bad idea to try and teach the cat to ice skate, let me ask all of you a question. A friend and I are thinking about starting a business. It's something really good, promise ( Read more... )

Wouldn't that just encourage more thefts?

Why won't he let you teach the cat to ice skate? [It seems reasonable to him...]

It might, but once people see how good Naoto and I are at solving things the crime rate would go back down, don't you think?

[THANK YOU.] I don't know. He thinks it's ridiculous or something.

[Snorts.] That's how now crime solving works kid. People doing something wrong do it in spite of their own conscience, they're not going to often give a damn about what anyone else thinks about it or they wouldn't do it.

Would the cat mind?

So we'll just have to start targeting them before they get too far. That's all.

I don't think so. Nea hasn't shown any kind of protest. [Besides meowing and sulking, of course.]

Then how do you prove they were going to do something?

Seems like it should be the cat's decision really.

We'll figure out a system. How hard can it be?

The cat's fine. He'd let me know if he really didn't want to learn.

Pretty difficult actually. I'm not opposed, just curious. If you can find a way to make it work, I want to keep it in mind.

[Nods.] So tell your friend that. If the cat doesn't mind learning he should be allowed to. [Smoker advocates ice-skating cats. Why not?]

...okay, okay. You seem to know what you're talking about. What would you suggest?

I've tried. I think Axel just thinks it's a weird hobby and doesn't want to say so. Either that or he's jealous of my animal skills.

Recovering items that have been stolen or lost and having someone in charge of handling the thieves, while getting enough proof that they were the ones to do such a thing.

Definitely jealous. Go show him you know what you're talking about.

So what you're saying is we need a bigger team. That might be arranged in the future.

I will! ...when he gets home.

Or combine teams.

You could make it a surprise. And teach the cat, then show him the cat was fine with it.

I don't know if there are other teams here though.

...that's not a bad idea. Axel will never know to expect it. Thanks.

Yeah, let me know how it goes.

They're more hero-types though. Think it's the same thing?

Thanks a lot. I will.

Sort of. You could also talk to Ginia and the new Sheriff about signing on for a division of the watch.

I can't wait.
