Book Fillers

Some books in a series seem like sausage. Taste pretty good but you might not want to know what's in it. Unfortunately, with a book as you read it you come across those pork lips and cow ears you would rather not know about. You keep chewing and like it ok enough as a whole and kind of accept it as part of the meal. You already ate the eggs and hash browns, would the meal really be complete if you didn't eat it? When your done you conclude you might just be able to finish off with some toast or fruit.

I just finished Light My Fire and Holy Smokes by Katie MacAlister. I didn't like them as much as the first two, which I had picked up on a lark and in desperation for something to read. They were certainly funny, just not as funny. I like the funny. Certainly sexy, almost too much for me so. I had a feeling the last one in particular was setting for another series. Which is kind of was. Two other series really. Would I like to see another one? Sure, there were some loose ends I'd like to see wrapped up. These felt more like a "in the middle" kind of things than stand alone. Not top of the road stuff for sure but great fun and a quick read.

Rant over.
