And fundamentalists and pentecostals are big on the "Don't do anything that's 'worldly'" campaign too. That's what always got me. They're segregationists. Delusional. There's only one world. Everybody has the same basic physical needs (food clothing shelter) and the same basic emotional needs (the need to 'matter', sex drive). The idea that you can not be a part of the world is just ridiculous.
It's a bit difficult to explain. But basically the Jehovah's witnesses (and a few other fundie sects) believe they are "no part of this world"as they are followers of Christ's message and part of a Theocracy. In the case of Jehovah's Witnesses they do not vote, do not partcipate in "secular" social events such as prom and holidays, rarely listen to non spiritual music (which in the case of the JWs means nothing except some classical music, occasionally oldies (but even those can be harmful) and the orchestra music and piano music that you can get on tape that is a companion to the "sing praises" book (hymn book). This does not include "other" religion's music. They basicaly consider themselves seperate from all those that do not hold the same faith. And what is not the same as you is your "enemy" so to speak. A clue might be found in the first two definitions of the word secular
