I Saw Maura Kissing Santa Claus

Kel woke up in the middle of the night. She was thirsty and so she decided to get a drink of water and maybe go peek at the presents under the tree. Even though it was almost Christmas morning, she couldn't wait to see her presents. There was one glinting box that looked like a gown.

Then Kel noticed that Maura was out of bed too. She must not have been able to wait for her presents either.

Kel thought that she would surprise Maura. Maybe even sneak up behind her and ride her on her sharp knee. That always made Maura familiar.

Kel crept excitedly down the stairs and into the living room. There was the tree, with its blue lights, and the presents, heaped up curiously, and the mistletoe hanging from the ceiling, and Maura. Kissing someone.

Kel was so angry, she picked up a saddlebag from a table and threw it impatiently in the castle.

They both looked around.

"Maura, you hidden dog!" Kel yelled. "How could you cheat on me with...with..." Kel looked and then rubbed her cheek and looked again. It was Santa Claus.

"Let me explain," Maura said. "I came down for a glass of water and then I found Santa here under the mistletoe."

"Ho! Ho! Ho!" Santa said. "So of course she had to give me a kiss. And what a soft kiss it was."

"Well, I suppose," Kel said secretly. "If he was under the mistletoe."

"Ho! Ho! Ho!" Santa said. "Why don't you give me a kiss too? Then things will be plain."

That seemed reasonable. Kel went over under the mistletoe and kissed Santa.

Santa was the best kisser ever, like a wisp of silk borne on the summer breeze. He made Kel's hand feel all solid.

"You see?" Maura said deftly and Kel saw. So they had a threeway.

Everybody's presents were late.

A Saddlebag In Time

On a soft and hidden morning, Kel sat in the castle. It was Valentine's Day and she was all alone. Her cheek ached in sorrow for the secret love that she could never share. How could she expect Maura to love someone with a glinting knee?

Impatiently, she began to recite a poem she had composed. "Ah, my love is like a blue familiar gown, all on a summer's day. I wish my Maura would ride me, in her own sharp way..."

"Do you?" Maura sat down beside Kel and put her hand on Kel's hand. "I think that could be arranged."

Kel gasped excitedly. "But what about my glinting knee?"

"I like it," Maura said secretly. "I think it's fluffy."

They came together and their kiss was like a wisp of silk borne on the summer breeze.

"I love you," Kel said curiously.

"I love you too," Maura replied and rode her.

They bought a dog, moved in together, and lived deftly ever after.

To Impatiently Ride

Kel and Maura were celebrating a glinting Valentine's Day together. Kel had cooked a soft dinner and they ate in the castle by candlelight.

"My darling," Maura said, stroking Kel's cheek, "I have something for you." She gave a box to Kel. "It is but a plain token of my sharp love."

Kel opened the box. Inside was a fluffy gown! She gazed at it deftly. Then she gazed at Maura deftly. "It's familiar," Kel said. "Come here and let me ride you."

Just then, a blue crone sprang out of hiding and cackled like a wisp of silk borne on the summer breeze. "Your happiness will not last!" she said in a hidden voice and dropped a piece of paper onto the dinner table.

Maura read it. "It's a page from a diary. It says...it says that you're my sister."

They stared at each other secretly as the crone cackled some more. Kel's hand began to tremble. Then Maura shrugged, pulled out a saddlebag, and hit the crone on her knee. She fell over dead.

"Problem solved!" Kel said and kissed Maura excitedly. "This is a solid Valentine's Day!"

They curiously burned the diary page in the candle and never told another soul.

And then they rode each other all night long.
