i am keeping this open so i can take note of all the things i rather like going on here XD

1) things that always slay me include hayato essentially finding ways to permeate ryu's life. ryu letting him do this, because um, he has an extra key. RIGHT. some ppl keep that key in their kitchen drawer, ryu-chan.

2) ryu understanding what hayato is saying. ryu finding all other people moronic and yet having incredible tolerance for hayato and his naive, interview-failing ways. and yes, thanks for pointing out that the idealistic gokusen morals um, so need some filtering before they can be applied to real life. XD were i a young japanese lad watching the show i'd come out thinking, "um. so the solution to everything is to get beat up a lot?"

3) hayato cooking. this somehow seems more plausible than ryu cooking because ryo exactly strikes me as the type who, if no food were readily at hand, would simply forbear to eat. hayato would learn to cook rather than starve and start from being really, really bad to decent, but never great--too much generosity, not enough patience/attention to detail. it's ok, because ryu would rather eat his cooking than gourmet, anyday.

(is my love for these two scaring you yet? =D)

4) i love the details, curry pan and peach calpico. although it's actually kara-age XD damn those hidden syllables, i know. sometimes i think my definition of love is casual domesticity.

5) "Maybe it will take back its original shape after a few weeks." ...after what, 12 years? hayato leaves a hell of a dent, you know.

6) ok, i give up. XD adorable naivete for the win! i was killed by the image of ketchup smiley-faces. (if you had made it hot-dog octopi would've accused you of OOC, however; the ketchup is a random last-minute master stroke that hayato is capable; the octopi would be premeditated gayness.) HAYATO WILL REMAIN A LOVING BUM, and ryu will not waste away to nothing on a diet of ONE CURRY PAN PER MEAL WTF.

btw, your icon is awesome.

I figured after that episode with Hayato's dad he would have learned A LITTLE cooking and then would have gotten so tickled by his bro and his dad LIKING his food that he's determined to become the GREATEST CHEF ever. The stint at the ramen shop was probably at least a little educational. I DON'T KNOW he seems like the type who would have a completely random skill set like that?

I COULD BE MAKING THINGS UP. I do that sometimes.

no i totally agree! i mean, in my favorite cfic (and in like, all of my universes) he goes back to work at kuma's shop for a while and learns how to make gyoza and everything. and i think he would like to feed ryu (again, cfic influence--in ALL the stories that mention their past ryu is a runty kid who is picky and sickly, so hayato forcefeeds him throughout elementary school XD).

don't uh, trust my references XD i write hayaryu when akame is killing me with angst and what comes out is this saccharine mush of wistful thinking. and pr0n, evidently.

part of the reason i get stuck with gokusen is aha, i can't actually imagine what hayato will eventually be. ryu will go get an education and probably move into something like law. hayato, though...what on EARTH is he fit for, i don't know. i don't like the idea of him changing, but without change, he's basically unfit for society. XD

....i am a pretty awful writer, so maybe you should read what i have before you decide you have requests for me ^^;;;; and for the love of god if you have a scrap of mercy in your soul don't make it nakanishi. i presume that means yucchi and jin, btw. ^^;;

ok but see if you watch sapuri, it becomes patently obvious HOW GIRLY kame can be. i mean, granted, kat-tun also makes it obvious how great jin is as a ditzy/slutty nurse, but kame's complete and utter failure to kiss like a straight guy in that series is sort of convincing. the fact that jin made his anego co-star kiss him 19 times is sort of convincing too, but alas, not of gayness. -_-

this is horrifically blasphemous to say, but half the time i feel like my problems in akame come from the fact that jin is not gay enough. he is like, this big shaggy puppy--or at least he was, until his debut-identity crisis--and stupid in ways that are indescribably straight male.

You know, that is pretty true. For all the crossdressing, a lot of KT doesn't seem very willing to humor us fans with the incredible ghei. Maybe that is why I am more drawn to News? Well, that and the ridiculously retarded member-ai, but that goes without saying. XD Anyway, now that I think about it beyond the "those guys are retarded hahaha," Jin and Koki and Maru all have a kind of incredibly straight guy smell to them, don't they?

my ranking is thus:

ueda = gay. very gay.
subaru i am not sure of. he is too angsty to be totally straight however.
yasu = pretty darn gay.
kame = i am borderline, but i would lean towards gay. he tries too hard, and when he's actually relaxed he has some damn girly moments.
jin = SADLY I AM LEANING TOWARDS STRAIGHT. but um, that is not an issue in the world of fanfic. i mean, reality is kind of not the point, sabe?
koki = straight, straight, straight. he's not even insecure, he's so straight. hence his willingness to do all sorts of weird shit.
maru = straight. so normal.
taguchi = straight, but only by default. taguchi gives me the impression of a boy who hasn't even gotten to the age where he thinks about girls as like, anything more than yet another faceless fan.

for that matter, i think most of NewS (minus tego and er, maybe kusano and massu, i really don't know the latter two well) is probably straight? I CANNOT TELL WITH UCHI. i haven't seen enough of him to know, but i'd feel really sorry for any girl he dated. i learn towards ryo/uchi because uchi is sort of...put it to you this way, ryo is probably nicer than he tries to seem, and uchi is probably meaner? and that fascinates me, and yet they are such good friends and probably feel that only they understand each other completely. tego is smart and sweet and arguably cute (and he isn't JUST a weepy adorable kid; watching early shows i'm convinced his EQ is actually pretty high XD) and in short ryo/tego would make for cuteness, but not as much fascination for me!

i feel like ryo and uchi are kind of different people in eito than they are in NewS, uchi in particular. uchi always seems to give ryo that stupid grin, though. it's horrifically endearing; the latest victim is cathy (two_if_by_sea).

i um, apologize for hijacking your LJ to babble incoherently about my latest obsession -_- i used to try and write things that were vaguely witty or at least semi-structured, but since the advent of JE all that has really gone to pot.

Haha and dude, I agree with you on most points. Tego is one of those geniuses that likes to run around petting random puppies and chasing sparkly things just because he CAN, but he is probably as smart as Shige is at LEAST. XD He knows how to adjust his behavior to fit every situation, so THAT's a sign. I think that's why I am so obsessed with him. That and the fact that when he first started out he would write letters to his bandmates that said "I think out of the eight of us I have the least appeal, but I will work hard so as not to be a burden to the rest of you." Plus it is kind of hot that he is ambidextrous, just saying.

Kusano is PAINFULLY straight. He is like, the FRAT BOY of NewS. He is really retarded and does all the stupid sorts of things my retarded frat boy brother would TOTALLY do. It's why he can put on green spandex and crawl into bed with Shige when he scares himself. LOL

And I admit I like RyoxTego purely for the whole "Oh god this kid doesn't know anything" vibe he gets, and how Ryo is so PUT UPON, but somehow still adores this kid and feels the need to need to take care of him despite his trying so hard to be a grumpy bear on camera. TO BE HONEST, I don't really have OTP OTPs in NewS, they are just one big happy orgy for me.

And yes. Uchi is totally mean. I can see it in his eyes, he just has a better brain-mouth filter than Ryo. But I think even if they are best of friends he and Ryo are too alike like this for me to OTP them; I tend to like the odd couple pairings that are just NOT ALIKE AT ALL that way. XD And I feel like they need that relationship they have with each other where they can hang out on the weekends and be like "Fuck man, my girlfriend is SUCH a BITCH." They seem to have that kind of vibe to me. XD

JUNNO. Haha yes, think you are right on the money there, and that might be why I love him so much too. I am a sucker for those types who are not so worried about what people think of them and have ridiculously honest faces.

And Maru's normal-ness makes me love him best out of KT. He's so ordinary and he's always trying to keep the peace between everyone... I think Koyama actually called him the manager once before or something, if I remember correctly. LOL Ah, it must be hard keeping that group of idiots from throttling each other. XD

my question on kusano--what's with the weird crush he had on kame a few years back, then?

i can see why ppl like ryo/tego and i like it too, when smart ppl write it (i.e. you) and it's not that i don't enjoy that dynamic, just....how to put this.

i am always, always a fan of the underdog, the awkward, the ones who DON'T get it. tego gets it and everyone loves him, hence there is no need for me to love him as well. XD kame on the other hand has a kajillion screaming fangirls and is pretty etc. but--always gives off this vibe of lonely, trying-too-hard-and-still-can't-get-what-he-really-wants that i can't resist. also, i find him pretty.

i am lousy at the ryo/uchi thing myself, but unrequitedangst's latest JE fic (a thing of BRILLIANCE, i tell you) does a pretty good job. not that i am arguing; i like what you have as their dynamic too XD i'd say that's uchi's most feminine quality ^^;; his um, slyness. (god that seems so sexist of me but let's face it, girls can be really good at two-facing.)

i am torn on maru. in interviews he seems mature, thoughtful, balanced, caring. other members also say he is this way. on stage and camera he is kind of a hyperactive jerk. I GUESS THAT MAKES HIM QUITE NORMAL TOO.

i still think your pi-blog in 5 ways was the greatest thing ever. i'm in awe when i read it.

Haha oh but Tego used to be the ULTIMATE under dog! 10 months in and they throw him in a group, Yamapi outright admits to not talking to him despite Tego openly admitting to idolozing him, and Ryo EVEN REFUSED TO GIVE HIM HIS CONTACT NUMBERS AT FIRST. He was so distraught he would secretly tell Massu he thought he didn't fit in. I kind of love his whole Cinderella story, and how he managed to come out of it still so well-adjusted and NORMAL. You know, as normal as sitting on members' laps and mouth-to-mouth feeding them food can get.

I personally think Kame was more fun in the earlier days when he was um, a little less uptight? But I guess it is in my heart to always like the goofy ones best. XD

AND KUSANO HAD A HUGE HONKING CRUSH ON KAME it's SO CUTE. And it is funny because I kind of see Kusano as the Jin equivalent in NewS because they are both the best all-rounders in both of their groups (they even have a similar sort of raspy quality to their voices). Kusano is just more relaxed than Jin.

Haha I think Maru plays bad cop a lot to Koyama's good cop when he's on camera like that. But really. He is the smartest one in Kat-tun. I know that doesn't say a LOT per say, but he is. And he's usually the only one who has nice things to say about everyone (a la the Real Face making of videos). I think it takes a lot of brains to pull off that kind of sort of facetious stupid and crazy. XD Whereas you know, Koki is just dumb. Cutely dumb, but DUMB. XD

omg, yes! ok like i know tego is smart. i know NewS on the whole is smart. not as smart as like, sho maybe (i realize now that the only way to have longevitiy in this industry is to go into management or broadcasting/MCing, which is so where sho is headed). but tego is amazingly smart in that he got in late, didn't do any of the hard work, sucks at dancing and STILL EVERYONE LOVES HIM. like, i could not pull that off. i think few ppl could.

frankly, neither kame nor jin is as much fun as they used to be. i think they were happiest back around 2005? the years leading up to that were like, the golden years of their friendship. i didn't know they were this angsty when i started shipping them, my friend essentially LIED to me--or told me the chinese fangirl version of things, which is, you know, basically the same thing. so i had this idea that they were still a happy couple where jin was retarded and dorky (as he is in SC clips) and they were being torn apart by a cold-blooded management, you know?

koki is dumb and ridiculously straightforward, but i like him for all that. XD for one, he's a good dancer. ( i can' and he looks so much better bald, GOD, what a fabulous decision on JE mgmt's part. a rare good one.

HAHA You know, I don't think Maru was ever featured enough in those old clips for me to get a handle on him, all the ones I have watched are from like beg 2006+, so in them he just seems like HE WILL NEVER BE COOL. And I can't help but love him for that. XD

I liked Koki at first but I find that lately I'm not so much, for all the really horrible bullying he does of Junno. IT was just that one comment he made during the dart game: "Isn't this the first time we've been glad to have Junno in the group?" that made me kind of REALLY SAD. LOVE EACH OTHER MORE PEOPLE!

Jin is definitely not as goofy as he used to be. But I guess it is hard to top REPEATING WORD FOR WOR WATERMELON JOKES and X times Y somehow equals his cursive J. -_-;;
