I am a Christian. I believe strongly in traditional values; children should not live in broken homes, you don't lie, cheat, or steal, sex inside of marriage, men should be the head of a household, that sort of thing. I feel that marriage is under fire these days; it's broken, and we have to defend it.
"Ending one marriage is no way to defend another."
I'm bothered by the anti-homosexual thing that's so prevalent in Christian communities. There are so many things to be angry about, to fight over, to struggle against... and we choose this? Something so apparently unimportant that Jesus never even bothered to mention it?
If we want to defend the sanctity of marriage, let's look at home first. There's currently a 50% divorce rate in heterosexual marriages. Something like. Why don't we work on our own marriages before telling other people what they can and can't do? If we want to enact a law to defend marriage, how about making infidelity illegal? It already is in the armed services. Nothing good can come of fucking around on your husband.
I am a Christian. And I feel that people need to get their heads out from under other people's sheets, and start worrying about their own marriages first.
Worry about child abuse, divorce, infidelity, starvation, homelessness... all of these things are evil in every sense of the word. And we're worried about a couple of gay guys loving each other so much they want to spend every last moment of their time together? About some lesbians who just want to be able to be at each other's side when they die, and want their partner to make medical decisions for them? What about Christians in Iraq who are being driven from their homes? In places where there are no Bibles in their language? What about children who don't know how to read to even be able to read the Bible, or basic text books that could provide them with a chance to be something other than a starving kid
I think I'm going to leave the sin of sticking a penis into an asshole up to God to worry over. I have more important things to worry about and spend my time on. Like making sure the disabled veterans down the road from me who are about to be evicted from their shithole of a trailer have supper on Christmas day.
