I'm still alive.... and no, no baby yet

Nov 13, 2005 21:54

Well, folks, as you can see, I'm not in the hospital. In spite of VERY blatant signs of me going into labor, Elisabeth has proven to be quite stubborn, and isn't wanting to move. I have a sneaking suspicion that we will be going in Wednesday for the induction, in spite of signs to the contrary. Oh well. Either way, by the end of the week, we WILL have a baby in arms. And who knows, I might be able to see Harry Potter before she comes. ;) I'm still upbeat, although it would be kinda nice to have this over with, I'm being as patient as possible under the circumstances. I know my conception date, though, so she's technically not late until Tuesday. ;) (You do the math. Count back nine months from the 14th. Nathan had a good Valentine's day...)

In case you didn't know from Nathan's journal, I've been without internet, and I have no clue when it'll be back on again. It may be a while, so I'll update when possible, but to be honest, once Elisabeth is here, it'll be hard for me to get to the library or a friend's house with internet (as I am now.)

So far, my days without internet have been very productive, though. The house actually looks good, even if the nursery/office is still cluttered as hell. We just don't have anywhere else to put anything! I've been keeping the dishes done, and the floors cleaned, and in general everything is looking presentable for the inevitable company.

I decorated the house for Christmas, already. I adore Christmas, and I love to put up decorations. I usually wait until after Thanksgiving to set up for it, but I figure this year I probably won't be up to it after Elisabeth is here, and we'll be having a lot of company, so it'll be nice to have the house fixed up. So we have a Christmas tree (which Noodles likes to sit in. Thus getting him banished to the back porch at night.), static stickers on any glass/window surface in the house, and little nic-nacs here and there. I figure I'll at least wait on our stockings until later, though, since I forgot to put them out, and Nathan's already put the boxes in the shed.

My nano has come to a screeching halt. I haven't written a word in DAYS. I think I've come with an idea for it, so if I can get the motivation, I can still catch up. Hell, the first yaer I did it, I wrote my entire novel in 14 days, because I signed up late. I think I can still manage this.

It's funny, you'd think with me making daily updates for months, I'd have more to put in here, but I really don't. :) I'll make another post under the pregnancy TMI filter with the nitty gritty details of the past three days' issues. Be forewarned, it'll be genuinely TMI. :)
