Tonks waited twenty-four hours before panicking.
After she fell asleep waiting up for Remus, she was worried the next morning when she realized that he still wasn't in the bed next to her. But still, she thought that maybe he'd just been busy getting together the new school term schedule and had ended up falling asleep there. It wasn't until, hauling Teddy around with her, she'd searched the school and the entire compound, and asked everyone she saw along the way if they'd seen him, that the worry turned to dread, and then to cold fear.
By the time the sun began to go down she was near tears. That was when she finally found Bill.
Teddy seemed to sense her unease, because she couldn't get him to stop crying.
