Sometimes Daniel enjoyed the hustle of the train. Having explored each direction for miles as XLR8, he was content with leaning back, reading a book he found on ancient runes. His feet propped up in the living room car, he was listening to some music that he found recorded from the time when he, Ed, Namine and Negi had sung their hearts out.

*It was one of those times where Kyon's Wobbuffet was out of his ball as he followed his trainer. Of course, Wobby is easily distracted when he sees another person, and so he wanders over and...*

Daniel jumped and almost went for the Omnitrix, but then stopped and stared. Memories of Jack's long tenure with the video game in order to avoid work came to him and he said, "Wobbafett?"

[And his trainer takes notice of Wobbuffet doing... Something.]

... Wobbuffet, what are you doing?

"He's yours?" inquired Daniel, having relaxed and looking over the semi-impossible blue thing. Biologically speaking it seemed kind of weird. But then again, Daniel + 10 Aliens = Impossibility as well.

"Oh, sorry forgot. I'm Daniel Jackson."

Ah, the good ol' "Wobbuffet drowns out Kyon's name", I love it.

Yeah, he's my Pokémon. I've had him for a long time.

By the way, I'm-- WOOOOOOOBBUFFET!! --, most people settle for calling me Kyon though.

Daniel nodded, totally not catching Kyon's real name. "Nice to meet you Kyon."

Picking up his book, he slotted a bookmark into it. "How long have you been here?"

It's uh... Getting close to four months now I believe...

"Hmm, so it's close to how long I've been here too," mused Daniel. "I've holed up in other rooms so I've missed pretty much everything."

And stuck under bookcases. With Ed and Negi.

I haven't been doing a whole lot here either, it's almost relaxing compared to my hectic life back home.

Daniel had to agree. No Ori, no Ba'al, no Vilgax, no Plumbers...

"Sometimes a little too relaxing, but the library's kept me busy. And I've been studying some of the cultures that are listed. Part of my job as an archeologist and linguist."

And saving the world.

Oh? An archeologist and linguist, huh? Sounds interesting.

[It was maybe a little too relaxing for Kyon too without Haruhi and Team SOS around, not that he'd ever admit it.]

Daniel nodded. "Most of my time is studying ancient cultures and deciphering texts that I find on expeditions. Sometimes it gets a little difficult in my field due to my work but it's rewarding."

The gesturing Daniel did however flash the large green device on his wrist, the Omnitrix. And it almost looked out of place on the man's arm.

I see... ... Interesting watch you have there.

"Thanks. It's something I picked up on the job."

Daniel wondered just how many people knew about this whole thing, especially since, well, the egg-laying incident a few months back.

Hm? "Picked up on the job"? I didn't know ancient civilizations had invented wristwatches.

[It was a clear case of sarcasm, but Kyon did sound somewhat intrigued as he said this.]

Daniel snorted a little as he twisted the dial on the watch. "You're sharp. It's part of the hazardous point of my job really. It's an alien device known as the Omnitrix, and has the ability to let the wearer "walk a mile in the others shoes"."

The plunger ejected. "You just press this down to use it."
