and all I can do is try ...

[ Flames were before her. An entire forest's worth. She worked quickly, flitting around on her broom, sending big bursts of water at the flames to try and calm the angry flames down enough to put them out completely. Nothing seemed to be working.

It was at this point in her memories that a boy with long, blue hair, and wielding a bow and arrow came to her rescue, helping her to put out the fires, and later on, helping her to gain the freedom she'd never had, never dreamed of having. Ordinarily, he would come and help her. And things, even if they were hard, would be okay.

This time, he didn't come.

He hadn't come for some time.

And every time she had this memory, she found herself waking up, a steady stream of silent tears running down her face.

That was how she woke up today, curled up in that big comfy chair in the library car. She had taken to sleeping there a lot lately.

And she had also taken to waking up a complete mess.

She didn't realize how true it was; you don't realize how much you care for someone until they're gone. ]
