she stands up and leans down (but not so far down -- now only the porch-step makes her taller) to crown the daisy chain atop ada's hair. "well, i was -- but then i got changed. it's something that happens, sometimes, i expect. but i was afraid i'd have to play all by myself, and nothing's nearly as much fun, all by myself -- not even being changed --"

"Thank you," she says, unable to keep from laughing just a little. "I-- I should be glad to play with you, if you would like."

"we could play at words, like guildenstern and hamlet do, but it seems too nice a day for that, doesn't it? or we could go to a field and go flying again ... or, i've a lot of pretty dresses -- we could pick some out for each other, and then go to a field and find flowers to match. or we could do all that but fly, too, if we feel like it."

"I-- I don't think I should be very good at playing with words. The rest, though, sounds lovely." She smiles.

"all the rest, then -- and if any words are involved, it's only incidental." she offers both her hands.

She laughs and lets herself be pulled, tightening her hold on ros's hands so that she doesn't fall.

"and we could go dancing!" she says next "i do like dancing. but i've never seen it from the other side, you know ... is it as much fun?"

"I've never been," she confesses shyly.

"i've only gone once, that i remember," she says, as much of a confession -- "but girls twirl, sometimes, in dances -- i know that much -- and that must be some fun! it's awful fun to watch -- and awful nice to pull someone in, and hold them close, afterwards. that might be the nicest part."

"I don't know," she says. "I know how to dance, but I've never danced with-- with someone you'd pull close, after."

shining-eyed and silly, "would you dance with me?"

She giggles. "Gladly." She curtsies deeply, like she has been taught, then offers her hands.

she bows raggedly -- it looks as silly on her as it does on a him -- and takes her hands with a look bright and sincere before clasping them tight and dashing into the house. "come on -- !"
