Twilight Saga: second verse, same as the first

Just finished reading "The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner," the novella Stephenie Meyer set in the middle of the third Twilight book "Eclipse." It's told from the POV of one of Victoria's army of Seattle newborns, the one who Carlisle speaks with at the end of the big battle.

Fascinating to get a perspective on the goings-on in Seattle - I haaaate that Twilight is so wedded to Bella's POV that anything she doesn't perceive is dark to us, something Meyer brags about in the introduction to Bree Tanner - but damn I wish someone would teach this woman to write in the third person. Bree Tanner just shifts the first person POV from Bella to Bree, and it's not that much of a change. Considering the uproar in fandom when she introduced small sections of Jacob-POV toward the end of the series, shouldn't she have at least considered it?
