Today is the anniversary of the first official Formula One race, held on the Silverstone circuit May 13, 1950. It was the first official race valid for the world championship Formula One racing drivers and the fifth held after the Grand Prix of Pau, San Remo Grand Prix won by Fangio both the Richmond Trophy won by the driver Reg Parnell and won the grand prize in Paris Georges Grignard.
