To be honest, I hate being labeled. I've always hated labels. I hate checking something for race, religion that sort of thing although I usually end up doing it--not to conform but rather to help for statistical purposes although when I'm in a bad mood I'll put other and write Celtic American because of course I hate labels and I'm making a funny.

I've been called a Feminazi; I've been to debates (back in college) where very radical feminists have debated very macho guys (He was very polite btw and she was rude).

I think there are two ways to approach the problem. You can basically say I defy your labeling and ignore it, or you can embrace it and say, yes, I'm in your face make something of it. Depending on my mood, I'll ignore crap like that or I'll tell the person in question to fuck off. I probably lean towards the confrontational though. But again, I consider myself someone that believes we should all be treated equally no matter what race/ethnicity/religion/sexual orientation/sex/etc. we are. I don't want to be redressed for what happened to my ancestors or women before me (And believe me I come from Irish and Scottish immigrants and none of them were well-off and many were treated like crap). I just want to be seen as who I am a strong, eccentric person who speaks her mind and doesn't take bullshit.
