One day short of a week in Charleston

Sep 22, 2003 17:14

Okay, since my last entry, I've...

1) Gone to downtown Charleston on Friday night -- we went to O'Reilly's and Bevin and I talked to a few seniors from The Citadel

2) Had my physical and it took me over an hour to pee, despite drinking a whole Nalgene of grape juice, half a Nalgene of water, and a cup of coffee (I think the coffee did it)

3) Got my ID card -- pretty decent pic

4) Gone to the beach (Folly Beach) twice (Sat. and Sun.) -- got sunburnt, of course -- Sat. was w\ my team and Sun. was w\ Meg

5) Went to Level 2 (bar & dance club) on Sat. night -- we were able to make a deal w\ the bouncer to have those under 21 get in for free and $10 (respectively, girls and guys, where it's normally $15 and $20) -- those of us were $3 and $7 for girls and guys, respectively -- I went w\ Meg, Brandon, Kim, Rachel, Emily, Katie, Sarah, Dan, Steve, etc.

6) Slept til 11am on Sunday but didn't roll out of bed til Meg woke up at 12:15pm

7) Went running w\ Meg & Kerriann on Sunday night -- I ran 1.3 miles and walked 1.3 miles -- it's not much, but at least it's something before PT (physical training) starts on Wed. from 5:30am to 6:30am

8) Went to van driver training, which included watching a stupidly funny video and listening to AmeriCorps' procedures on accidents and other fun stuff -- thank God for the PlayDoh that Erica gave us!

9) Had my one-on-one w\ Erica (she's been meeting w\ each of us) -- that went well

Tomorrow's my van driving practicum (test) -- I'm not worried b/c I drove our big red cargo "terrorist" van all over Chicago last year, but then again, NCCC is more rules and safety-oriented than the FOA.

Okay, I'm gonna head over to get some dinner. My team is one of 10 or so who are going bowling tonight, so that should be fun. I still gotta go to Walmart to drop off my film, but hopefully I can do so after I'm done w\ my practicum tomorrow, since I feel bad about bugging people who have cars. I also gotta find the BP (Border Patrol) bar...

Anyhoo, adios for now!
